Urgnt Limited

Welcome! Urgnt Limited is a New Zealand software and advisory partnership led by Rich Anderson and Nathan Richardson. Founded in 2011 to deliver large scale methods projects for global service firms, today we build and release our own products — Farkitect, SteadyOn, and BookFellows — alongside opinionated enterprise architecture services for Kiwi businesses.

Get On with It

Enterprise architecture is a craft that is more like programming or woodworking than most realise. Don't overthink it.

Give them what they want

Too much time is wasted trying to sell the value of enterprise architecture. Stop it. Solve for what's keeping your client up at night.

Stop making stuff up and boring your colleagues to death

Don't reinvent what you can get for free. Standards like TOGAF and Archimate can really help you but nobody else will care.

Diagramming tools don't scale and will eventually hurt you

An architect who can't use modeling tools is like a carpenter who can't use a power drill. Even a free one like Archi is better than PowerPoint.

Don't confuse modeling with communicating

Just because you think your model is beautiful doesn't mean your client does. Redraw it in PowerPoint if you have to.

Meet your heroes
